Boniface Mwangi's education journey was marked by many challenges, but he persevered and continued learning throughout his life. He earned a Diploma in Bible Studies from The Kingdom Academy, a Diploma in Print Journalism from the East African School of Journalism, and later completed a program in Human Rights and Documentary Photography at New York University. He also completed his KCSE as a private candidate in 2016 after earlier disruptions to his schooling. His education helped him build skills in journalism, photography, human rights advocacy, communication, and civic leadership, which have played a major role in his work as a photojournalist, activist, and politician.
